This Week on Purple Day: Grandpa Ivy & King Winter

circle time purple day stories & storytelling

Listen to this episode of the Purple Day Podcast with your preschooler and enjoy winter-themed songs and a nature-based story. You’ll likely catch them (and you!) singing around the house by the end of the day.

In this episode, we sing songs about gnomes and winter animals and then listen to a nature-based, Waldorf-inspired tale.
During circle time, we enjoy singing nature-based, seasonal songs.

"Winter's cold, there's snow in the sky
The squirrels gather nuts and the wild geese fly."

After circle time, we listen to a story together.

This week, we hear the story of Grandpa Ivy & King Winter.

This Week on Purple Day

In this story, Grandpa Ivy wakes up one January morning with everything much colder, windier, and snowier than usual at his house. He worries about the animals staying well-fed and warm when everything is cold and frozen. King Winter shows Grandpa Ivy how he cares for the animals throughout the winter.

Each Purple Day Podcast episode features audio from an episode of Storytime in the Schoolhouse, a nature-based, Waldorf-inspired preschool program.

You can listen to the episode above in the blog post or directly from the Purple Day podcast page, where you can download this and other episodes to enjoy with your child
